Biryani is a rice based item made using various spices, meat, egg etc. The most popular among the Biryani is Hyderabadi Biryani.
Ingredients:
- 1 Kg fresh Chicken cleaned and cut into small pieces
- 2 big Onions sliced
- Whole Garam Masala(3 cardamom, 2 inch piece of cinnamon stick, 6 cloves)
- 20 Green Chillies slit
- 3 tbsp of Ginger Garlic paste
- 1 tsp of Turmeric Power
- 2 Tomatoes chopped
- 1 bunch of Coriander leaves, finely chopped
- 10 Mint leaves chopped
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
- Salt to taste
- 1/4 cup Ghee
- 1/2 tbsp Food color
- 1/2 cup of golden fried Onions
- Some Dry Fruits Raisins and Cashews
- Some Spring Onions chopped
- 3 cups Basmati Rice
Method:
To make Rice:
- Wash and soak Basmati Rice for 30 min and cook it in boiling water along with half portion of mentioned Whole Garam Masala.
- When the rice 3/4th cooked strain the water.
To make the Chicken Masala:
- In a cooking pan add the oil and saute the finely sliced onion till translucent.
- Add the whole Gram Masala and the slit Green Chillies and fry.
- Now add the Ginger Garlic paste saute further, add Turmeric Powder and mix.
- Add Tomatoes and half of chopped Coriander and Mint leaves. Cook till the tomatoes are soft.
- Add Chicken and Salt. Mix well and cook till done.
- Once the chicken is 3/4th cooked add the remaining chopped Coriander and Mint leaves and Lime Juice.
The Biryani:
- Take a pan and put a layer of Rice, now put a layer of Chicken Masala on it and again a layer of Rice.
- Season the Rice with Raisins and Cashews fried in ghee.
- Garnish with Golden fried Onions and Spring Onions.
- Pour food color on to the Rice and close the pan with a foil. Place the pan in the oven for 300F for 30 min.
- Once itโs out The Chicken Biryani is ready!!!
