A quick and simple Chicken Biryani recipe is mentioned below. Do try it once and then you will keep making it for sure.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg Chicken
- 2 cups Basmati Rice
- 2 cups Water
- 1/2 a Coconut
- 5-6 Onions
- 2 Tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 7-8 tbsp
- 9-10 Garlic Cloves
- Ginger (small piece)
- Little Coriander leaves, Palak, Fenugreek (Methi) leaves
- 3 Green Chilies
- Garam Masala- 4 Cloves, Cinnamon (small piece), 1 Bay Leaf, small piece of Nutmeg, 1/2 tsp Fennel, 1 Star Anise (Chakra Phool), little Mace
- 5-6 tbsp Ghee
- Salt according to your taste
Method
- Wash Chicken pieces thoroughly.
- Grind Ginger and Garlic till it becomes a smooth paste.
- Marinate Chicken pieces with Ginger-Garlic paste and Curd.
- Wash Rice and keep it aside.
- Chop Onions and Tomatoes.
- Grind grated Coconut with little water and squeeze it to get thick Coconut milk.
- Pour Ghee. Add Garam Masala items(4 Cloves, Cinnamon (small piece), 1 Bay Leaf, small piece of Nutmeg, 1/2 tsp Fennel, 1 Star Anise (Chakra Phool), little Mace).
- Add Onions and Green Chilies. Saute Onions till they turns golden brown.
- Add Tomatoes. Mix it well for a while. Add Coriander leaves, Palak, and Methi Leaves.
- Add marinated Chicken pieces and mix it nicely. Add Turmeric powder and Coconut Milk.
- Add Rice, Water and Salt. Allow it to cook in the Pressure cooker (3 Whistles).
- Yummy Chicken Biryani (Konkani: Chicken Biryani) is ready to serve!
