A Pancake is round, thin and flat cake made from batter (mentioned below) and cooked in frying pan. This is served with variety of toppings like jam, fruits, syrup, meat etc. There are wide varieties of pancakes. The shape and size of pancakes varies worldwide. Pancake restaurant chains include IHOP (International House of Pancakes) and The Original Pancake House.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
- 1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 large Egg
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted Butter
Method:
- Mix all the dry items in a bowl i.e- All Purpose Flour, Baking Powder, Salt and Sugar.
- Whisk together all liquid items in another bowl i.e. Egg, Milk and melted Butter.
- Now add the liquid mix in dry items bowl and mix slowly- till u get a smooth batter.
- Heat frying pan, grease with butter and add ladle full of batter. Wait till pores are formed and then flip over and cook.
- Serve Pancakes with syrup and butter!
